Cast Iron Theatre returns their 4th annual show of gender flipped performance. They present a new selection of iconic monologues, speeches and scenes originally written for men, now performed by women. This year’s curator is Michelle Donkin.
In fringe theatre no-one can hear you scream: one hour, one woman, one cult movie. One Woman Alien is a comic parody of the classic movie. In 60 minutes, Heather re-enacts the movie playing all the characters using an array of delightfully low budget props, puppets and effects. It's a marvellous mix of commentary, comedy, physical theatre and mock-horror geekdom.
Lucy Lord has it tough. She has bills to pay, the rent is overdue and she's exhausted. You'd think having super powers would make her life easier. Nope. Being super sucks. This dark comedy, from writer Michelle Donkin, asks what would happen if a poor, young woman suddenly found she had super powers... Does fighting crime become just another thing on the To Do list?
